CSA Terms and Conditions

CS What?Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)—is a farm model that allows you, as a member of the community, to take part in a local farm endeavor by investing in a farm early in the season, when costs are high and crops aren’t ready. In return for your investment, you get a share of the crops—flowers in this case. So even if you’ve never lifted a shovel, you can still help to grow beautiful sustainable flowers, and share in the bounty—and beauty—of the harvest.

At Chipmunks and Daisies we grow a diverse mixture of specialty cut flowers with a variety of textures, colors, and scents. We use regenerative growing practices. (That's a fancy way of saying we’re using practices like zero synthetic pesticides, and no-tillage as we work to leave our land better than we found it.) We strive to work with and protect the nature that surrounds us. We love our Ozark woodlands and when we are making farming decisions, it’s always with our ecosystem in mind.

By purchasing a bouquet share from Chipmunks and Daisies, either for yourself or as a gift, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

PAYMENT

I understand that payment in full must be made at the time of purchase. This secures your spot in the CSA and helps us plan our flowers for the year.

I understand that there are no refunds, either partial or in full, for cancellation of my CSA once purchased. Members are free to sell their remaining share to an alternate person. The alternate person will pay the original shareholder directly. Chipmunks and Daisies must be notified of this transfer (info@ChipmunksAndDaisies.com) and given the full contact info of the alternate no later than five days before the next scheduled pickup, and will not be responsible for finding an alternate for you, or for any transfer of funds

SHARE DATES

I understand that the start of each CSA share is flexible and based on seasonal conditions and product availability. Chipmunks and Daisies will communicate via email to inform all shareholders of start dates and any schedule changes. I understand that it is my responsibility to contact the Chipmunks and Daisies via email (info@ChipmunksAndDaisies.com) if I feel that I am not receiving notifications.

SHARING OUR SEASON

I understand that as a member, I share in both the bounty and the risks of farming. Chipmunks and Daisies will do everything in their power to mitigate these risks, but cannot eliminate them; because farming includes risks. I understand that these risks may include poor harvests or crop failure due to pests, weather, fires, floods, tornadoes, armadillos or baboons. (Okay, it’s doubtful about the baboons, but did we get your attention?)  On the other hand, if the crops are bountiful, I understand that I may receive larger than normal bouquets, or the opportunity to buy extra bouquets for myself or for friends at a discount.

PICKING UP and CHANGING AND YOUR SHARE

I understand that my share will be delivered about every other week (twice a month) to the location I select at the time of purchase. I understand that once I have purchased a CSA share, I am not able to change the pickup location, request an alternate pickup day, or extend my share due to a missed pick up for any reason. I understand that I cannot receive a refund for any shares that I do not pick up. If I am out of town or unable to pick up my CSA, I understand that it is my responsibility to find a friend or relative to take my share home.

I understand that each pickup host is blessing us with the use of their space, and I agree to pick up my shares on the day specified and in a courteous manner. The owners of the pick up locations are in no way affiliated with Chipmunks and Daisies and cannot answer any questions that you may have. All questions must be emailed to Chipmunks and Daisies (info@ChipmunksAndDaisies.com). Pickup times are specific to each host location. It is my responsibility to pick up my share during the designated time period on the designated day. If I am unable to pick it up I will enlist a friend to do so. I understand that if my share is not picked up on the designated day, within the designated time, I forfeit that share and it will be donated.

FLOWER CARE

I understand that flowers are perishable with a vase life of 5-14 days. Each twice-monthly bouquet will have a link to care instructions for my flowers and it is my responsibility to care for them.

Hint: The best and easiest way to make your flowers last a long time is to change their water daily. Just like you, flowers need fresh clean water to drink.

All flowers in your bouquet are delivered within 24-36 hours of harvest and in peak condition. In every bouquet we will include a variety of flowers, in a variety of stages of bloom. Some flowers we will include because they are beautiful, whimsical, and unique, but they don’t last very many days. Mixed in with these will be flowers that, when properly cared for, will last a week or two. As the short-lived flowers fade, simply remove them (you’re changing their water daily anyway right?) and enjoy a bouquet that changes with each passing day. I understand that Chipmunks and Daisies is not responsible for shortened vase life or poor flower quality due to my neglect or mistreatment of my bouquet.

I understand that Chipmunks and Daisies is dedicated to making sure that I have a spectacular bouquet that brings me joy. Should there be any issue with my flowers upon pickup from the host location, I will contact Chipmunks and Daisies via email (info@ChipmunksAndDaisies.com) within 12 hours to alert them of the issue, and when possible will include photographs to document the problem.

COMMUNICATION

EMAIL
By signing up for the CSA, I understand that I will be added to the fortnightly (every 2 weeks) email list, and I agree to add info@ChipmunksAndDaisies.com to my email contacts. This is how Chipmunks and Daisies communicates farm updates or any weather-related changes to the schedule. I understand that Chipmunks and Daisies is not responsible for miscommunications due to e-mails going to my spam folder. I will notify the farm immediately if I do not receive an e-mail receipt of my payment or my CSA emails.
